PSII

After taking a 1 week break from classes, we re-grouped and had a presentation from Jeff Hopkins who spoke about the PSII (Pacific School of Innovation and Inquiry). During his presentation, he introduced PSII to us. AS someone who had never experienced inquiry learning until university, I was excited to learn about how it can be applied and adapted to younger learners.

One aspect of Jeff’s presentation that stood out to me was when he talked about their unique inquiry steps developed for their students. Afterwards when I was reflecting on the presentation, I began to see how versatile this model is. For my future practice, I would substitute some steps to be more teacher- led or scaffold this model to have the gradual release of responsibility developing over a school years as students became more familiar with inquiry.
