The saying “Carpe Diem” is one that I have learned to love and appreciate over time. I took advantage of my time off to do what I like to do best; relax and adventure. After getting up at 4:15am, we began the long drive up island. We took a few obligatory Tim Horton’s stops along the way, but continued until we reached our destination, which was Ucluelet, B.C. It was my first every time camping and not glamping (which I would argue is still a form of camping).
When we arrived, the first thing that we did was head to the beach. Ucluelet has many trails and beaches, and is a short drive away from Tofino. We started at the lighthouse loop, and then walked part of the Wild Pacific Trail. Afterwards, we retired to our campsite for a fire and my first ever Smore! Over the next few weeks, I will be posting more updates from this excursion.
